Speaking
Encourage students to speak English to the English teachers during and after the lessons.
Encourage students to participate in activities in the English Room and communicate with the NETs.
Encourage group discussion and presentation during English lessons.
Select students to be English Helpers, let students themselves be the leaders who can initiate English speaking activities.
Listening
Enhance listening skills during the English Assembly, group discussions or presentations.
Reading
Study grammar structures, vocabulary as well as the context in depth through reading different readers.
Encourage students to read fictions and non-fictions through the School-Based Reading Scheme.
Promote online English reading, encourage students to read a passage a day.
Drama
Promote Drama in the school curriculum in order to help students get used to meet the requirements of the NSS (New Senior Secondary) Curriculum.
Drama can achieve a wide variety of educational goals. It can arouse students’ interest in English, stimulate students to read aloud. It can also help uphold students’ confidence by getting them perform on the stage or before the public.
Through the enjoyment Drama brings, it helps reduce students’ stress and provides an outlet for expression of emotions.
English Activities
Have different activities with different themes on certain Friday Activities sessions. These activities include play, fashion show, cooking competition, drama and games.
Reason for the activities is to let students enjoy the fun of English. Let them understand that English is not only a subject matter; however, it is authentically related to the daily life.
