Developing students’ active and healthy living styles as well as nurturing their good virtues in order to maintain a balance of physical and psychological development
Objectives
- To develop students’ physical competence and knowledge of movement and safety, and their ability to use these to perform in a wide range of activities associated with the development of an active and healthy lifestyle
- To advocate the importance of physical education and encourage students to maintain a habit on doing exercise regularly
- To develop students’ confidence and generic skills, especially those of collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and aesthetic appreciation
- To nurture the positive values and attitudes in PE, provide a good foundation for students’ lifelong and life-wide learning
Features
Key Stage I:
- To develop fundamental movement skills through fundamental movement activities and physical play
- To control related tools to keep balance and maintain body growth in which collaboration among the students and aesthetic appreciation can be developed
Key Stage II:
- To learn various areas of physical activities such as football, basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, table-tennis, dodge ball, baseball, track and field, gymnastics and dancing
- To develop students’ generic skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity and aesthetic appreciation
School-based activities
- Extra-Curricular Activities
To explore students’ potential in doing sports, various extra-curricular activities are held. These include Basketball, Track and Field, Table-Tennis, Badminton, Rope Skipping, Dancing, Taekwondo, Shoulin Fist, Roller-Skating and Swimming. Those who perform brilliantly will be selected to be a member of the School Team. The endurance and sportsmanship can hence be developed through having regular training and entering competitions. - Sports Day
Our Sports Day is held annually for Primary 3 to Primary 6 students at the Sports Ground. They should join at least one item choosing from running, long jump, high jump, ball throwing, 4X100 relay or 2X100 Parent-Child Relay. - Mini Sports Day
Our Mini Sports Day is held annually for Primary 1 to Primary 2 students at our school playground. Students can learn to enjoy the fun of sports and collaborating with others through participating in exciting movement games.
